Ever had that feeling that you've read something before, but you just can't remember? Ever gotten halfway through a book, only to realize it's not the kind of story you wanted? I have, and it absolutely stinks. As a reader with a goal to read as many different books as possible, it's frustrating. I've even bought multiple copies of books I already have because I couldn't remember what was already in my extensive collection (yes, I actually have that problem, and as a broke college student, it sucks even more). Well, lo and behold, I actually have a solution for you fellow book addicts. It's a website called goodreads.com (Yes, I know the title is so original). This website has become one of my most invaluable tools and a great resource. GoodReads allows you to keep track of what books you've read, when you've read them, lets you categorize and organize them, etc. You can even mark books that you want to read, and it will even give you recommendations based off the books you've already read. Pretty nifty huh? But that's not all! The site also allows you to see what your friends are reading, you can write reviews, send other people recommendations, you can take quizzes and polls . . . they even have hundreds of free giveaways every week. And I mean HUNDREDS. It even helps you with your studies (yes you heard that correctly). When you're taking multiple classes and you're reading one or two books for each class, it's sometimes hard to keep track of where you're at. Goodreads will keep track of where you are in each book, meaning that it's actually not the end of the world when you lose the bookmark that's holding your place (Seriously though, that feeling is the worst ever, because you spend at least ten minutes panicking, trying to find out where you left off . . . but I digress). But really, check this website out! It's totally free to make an account, (and free is never a bad thing) and you can link it to your Facebook account to make it even easier. Authors are members on this site too! You can ask them questions, send them messages, even become their Goodreads friend and exchange favorite novels (can you tell my dork is showing? :P ) Please take a look and comment to let me know what you think!
