Hello my bibliomaniacs!
I am so sorry once again for my prolonged absence. Every time I say that things have come up, and while that's true, that's still no excuse. Books are my passion, and as such, I need to learn to make time for them.
Which brings me to the point of why I'm posting tonight. As the fan is blowing and I hear the crickets outside, I ask myself, "How many people would read more if they thought they had the time?"
The truth is, like anything else, people have to make time. We as human beings live such busy lives that we don't even stop to consider giving ourselves even thirty minutes to make an escape into the worlds that are made of paper and ink. Reading has the ability to calm our bodies down, better than tea, music, yoga, etc. And yet it keeps our brains active and healthy without stressing us out. So the question is, (And yes, I'm talking to you, person who reads only a chapter a month), why don't we schedule that time for ourselves? It is entirely possible to do, and sure something else might not be worked on, but it is essential to remember we take the time for ourselves to unwind. I have been awful about that myself.
So join me in making a pledge to read once a day for at least 20 minutes a day. I want to hear how you're making it a reality, and what challenges you from meeting that goal. Speaking of, after a bit of cleaning, I'm heading between the pages myself.
Sleep tight and happy reading!
